“We are excited about the Europlex investment opportunity and believe that it will provide a strong platform for growth in the short to medium term,” said Eric Mueller, president, Celanese Fibers.
Addressing a packed hall of 250 investors and guests at Cera’s 2005 annual general meeting in Singapore, Mueller said: “We are very focused on accelerating the development of our new products and new manufacturing techniques. We have created a new polysilicon division in manufacturing technology and we are now adding capacity at several plants.”
Mueller said Celanese Fibers is now the largest polysilicon producer in the world, with a capacity of more than 350,000 tons a year. It currently exports its product to 29 countries.
